KALEY: "Penny" is Hosting the Teen Choice Awards
UPI is reporting that our beloved Penny, Kaley Cuoco, has been signed to serve as the host of the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, which will be held next month in Los Angeles. Notes the story, "Cuoco is best known for her work on the TV sitcoms 8 Simple Rules and The Big Bang Theory. The Teen Choice 2011 Awards are to be presented Aug. 7. OneRepublic and Selena Gomez & the Scene have been booked to perform on the show, which will air live on Fox. Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Chris Hemsworth, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Victoria Justice, Ed Helms, Lucy Hale, Shaun White, Rose Byrne, Paul Wesley, Tom Felton, Kat Graham, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Shane West are also scheduled to appear at the ceremony, Fox said on its Web site."
SIMON & KUNAL: They're NOT Like Their Characters
In an interview with the Montreal Gazette, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar spend quite a bit of time emphasizing that they're not very much like their Big Bang Theory characters of Howard and Rajesh.
Says Simon, "We have to come clean. We actually rely on real smart people to make us sound smart. Not only can I not help someone with the apps on their iPhones, but people look at me real strangely when I go to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store and ask the staff if they can help me figure out how to get my email – because I have no idea how to do it. Sad to say, but, although I’m getting better, I’m pretty much totally inept on a computer.”
To which Kunal adds, “We’re both quite capable of saying some real dumb stuff. We're 100-per-cent different from our characters in real life. People do think we are really smart in real life because of the characters we play, but, fortunately, few ask me questions about quantum physics – which would fast prove otherwise."

JIM PARSONS INTERVIEWED ON MSNBC
In article appearing on MSNBC.com, it was discussed whether or not Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper actually suffered from Asperger's, given the fact that he can't seem to help but view things one way and voice whatever comes to mind.
"In his mind, it has nothing to do with being rude or polite, it has to do with, 'This is who we are, this is how we deal with it,'" actor Jim Parsons said. "Sheldon is not doing it to be mean, it's based in fact. You have to call out each fact as you would in the lab, as you would on paper... Nine times out of 10, I don't think there's a nefarious or bitchy edge to what he's saying. That's just how he calls it. That's what keeps the edge from being too sharp a lot of times."
KATEE SACKHOFF DOES "THE BIG BANG THEORY"
Today's USA Today had an article about Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff appearing on the November 23rd episode of the series, in which she'll play herself — as a figment of Wolowitz' imagination.
Explains co-creator Chuck Lorre, "The story is about how Wolowitz has this wonderful woman in his life, but he can't recognize what's right in front of him because he's mesmerized by fantasies about women from sci-fi. The scene is his mental image of Katee, but she's telling him the truth, that he's missing out on real life." Sackhoff says she would love to recur on the series as Wolowitz's "Number Six," an idea Lorre wouldn't have a problem with. "That would be terrific,"he concurred. She could definitely be Number Six in Wolowitz's head -- his muse, the magnificent woman who tells him the truth. We should all have a conscience that looks like Katee Sackhoff."

JOHNNY & JIM INTERVIEWED BY LOS ANGELES TIMES
Today's Los Angeles Times had an interview with Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons, which was conducted by Margaret Wappler. Among the revelations, while the two actors can struggle with their lines, co-star Kaley Cuoco apparently has no problem whatsoever. "I don't know how she does it," Jim said., "but she always has every single word memorized," to which Johnny added, "She never makes a mistake."
